Group photo of the Youbou Rockets Volleyball Team at Champions of Vaisakhi 1956 in Youbou, B.C. There are 18 men in the photograph and they are posed in two rows in front of a volleyball net. Seven of them are wearing sweatshirts reading "Youbou Rockets". Before them is placed a covered table bearing 6 trophy cups, in front of which are placed 2 volleyballs and a trophy plaque. The team captain, Phuman S. Johel, is seated 4th from the left in the middle row.

Vaisakhi is a festival of the spring harvest that marks the first day of the month of Vaisakh, and is traditionally held on April 13th or 14th. Vaisakhi is observed by Sikhs and some Hindus.
