Whether as spectators or athletes, sports are a popular means for communities to come together, meet new people, and connect. From wrestling to horse racing, soccer to Olympic swimming, South Asian Canadians have been active participants in sports culture within their community and within the general Canadian society. The South Asian Canadian sports collection includes images and documents pertaining to South Asian Canadians and illustrates how sports has played an important role in their lives. Records were compiled by archivists from various other SACDA collections and fonds to create this comprehensive collection.
