Description
Image of William John Bowser, the premier of British Columbia from 1915-1916 and a MLA for the City of Vancouver from 1903-1924. As premier, Bowser added an amendment to the Provincial Elections Act barring South Asian Canadians from voting. Previous to this, Chapter 17 of the Elections Act already barred Japanese Canadians, Chinese Canadians, and indigenous people from voting.
