Description
A political cartoon of Herb Doman and Joe Frumento. On a rooftop, an unflattering caricature of Herb Doman sits on a large bag of money. Dollar bills spill out of the bag and onto the floor of the rooftop. Herb, wearing a smug half-smile, holds a fishing rod over the edge of the rooftop, dangling a carrot from the end of the fishing line. On the floor below the rooftop, a crowd of local politicians scramble over each other to snatch the carrot out of the air. One of the politicians is identified as Don Phillips. An unflattering caricature of Joe Frumento stands behind Herb wearing a smug grin and holding a bunch of carrots behind his back. Herb reassures Joe that if they give a carrot to one of the local politicians, the rest of them will allow the company to do whatever they want. The carrot has been partially erased with liquid paper and redrawn. Joe Frumento was a log buyer for British Columbia Forest Products and later Vice-President of Doman Industries. He was born on February 3, 1922 and died on May 22, 2013. Donald McGray "Don" Phillips was a Canadian politician. He was born on August 24, 1929 and died on October 5, 2016.
