Description
Transcription and English transliteration of an interview with Paul Singh Dhaliwal. Paul Singh Dhaliwal who was born on May 14, 1914 in Chunnawal, Punjab. Dhaliwal moved to Canada in 1932 to reunite with his uncle, Pagat Singh. Dhaliwal remembers the difficult journey it took for him to arrive in Canada and the labourious work he did. He also recalls the events of the second World War and how it impacted the lives of Japanese-Canadians. He further mentions how South Asians had to fight to acquire voting rights and citizenship. Dhaliwal also recounts his experience working as a professional wrestler and later as a businessman.
