Description
Surjit Kaur is standing on the left wearing a patterned salwar suit, an Indian women's attire, with a blue-coloured chunni covering her head. Her wrist has an iron bracelet, a karhas that represents a Sikh's mission to carry out good deeds on earth. Next to Surjit is her husband, Gurdev Singh, who is wearing a formal suit, and her four children (oldest to youngest): Gurcharan Kaur, Kulwant Kaur, Jessi Kaur, and Gurvir Singh. Two daughters, Kulwant Kaur and Jessi Kaur can be seen wearing karhas.
