Description
This document details the story of Kartar Kaur Gill. This document describes the 17 years of separation Kartar Kaur had from her husband, Indar Singh Gill. When Indar Singh left for Canada in 1930 to find work, he left behind Kartar Kaur and their infant daughter, Gurcharan Kaur. Unfortunately, during this period of separation, Gurcharan Kaur passed away. Eventually, the Gill couple resided in Fraser Valley with their three children. Kartar Kaur's struggle with being apart from her husband is documented through the letters she sent to Indar Singh which have been highlighted in this document.
