Description
This photograph depicts a South Asian protest march on Harvest Drive and Mountain View Blvd. on January 4, 1981 headed towards the Ladner police station. The mass demonstration was organized in response to the racially motivated arson of the home of Gurdev Singh Sidhu. Included among the demonstrators were people from the BC Organization to Fight Fascism, the Trotskyist League, and the People's Front Against Racist and Fascist Violence and the East Indian Defense Committee. There were estimated to be approximately 300 people participating in the demonstration.
