"A fascinating human drama about corruption." -Kabir Cultural Centre
"Winner of 'Best Regional Film' award in July 2005 in India, this film, dealing with corruption, begins and ends with a slogan, "I do not speak lies. I speak only the truth. I share my alms with others," and takes a series of comic twists and turns. However, there are tragic undertones with revelation of selfish and cruel designs of mind. Powerful story, incisive dialogues, an outstanding performance by Venkata Rao as the uncompromising saint-like mendicant Goravayya, Dattatreya as a remorseless and concieted person who uses his commitment to his family to conceal his thoughts and deeds, Suchendraprasad as an honest officer, Raghunandan, who gives up his integrity first for humanity's sake and then for his survival, Sowmya as an innocent and rebellious Gowri, a conscience keeper of society, all help the film hold the interest of the audience till the end." -Kabir Cultural Centre
"A postgraduate in Kannada Literature and a diploma holder in journalism, after a short stint as Journalist, he entered Film land in 1990 as Screenplay and dialogue writer. In 1995 he became Independent Director of Television serials, Documentaries and Tele films. His maiden effort as Director of feature film MUNNUDI (A Preface) in the year 2000 has brought him great applause for his sensitive approach to cinema and was also hailed as a landmark film. He followed it up with ATITHI (The Guest-2001), BERU (The Root-2004), THUTTURI (The Bugle-2005), VIMUKTHI (Liberation-2008) and sixth film BETTADA JEEVA (Man of the Hills). All these six films received National Award. He is the first director to receive six consecutive National Awards." -https://www.imdb.com/name/nm5561974/bio?ref_=nm_ov_bio_sm.
