Photo of Gurdev Hari, winner of the 1950 Lady of the Lake beauty pageant, standing in the grass in front of a parade float in Lake Cowichan, B.C. She is wearing a white saree with a corsage on the right shoulder along with the regalia given to the pageant winner - a paper crown, a scepter and a sash reading "Lady of the Lake". The parade float is decorated to resemble a boat.

The winner in 1950 was Gurdev Hari. Most of Gold's photos are oriented in landscape format. This is one of the few in portrait format.
