Group photo of 13 South Asian lumber mill workers from the #1 Planer Day Shift at Industrial Timber Mills Ltd, Youbou, B.C. Six workers are seated on sawhorses, the rest are standing. The workers are posed on the deck of a building at the logging camp[?]. The planer is a machine that smooths and cuts logs of rough lumber to desired thicknesses and dimensions.

This photo's entry in the Labour History exhibit collection provides some additional information. It states that Industrial Timber Mills Ltd. became British Columbia Forest Products, and associates this photo with the 1943 report that South Asians at the Youbou Mill were "100% unionized".
